NUC Conducts Successful Accreditation Exercise at Peaceland University, Enugu
Peaceland University, Enugu, has successfully hosted the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise for key programmes: Nursing Science, Microbiology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity, held between October 28 and November 1, 2025.
The accreditation, which formed part of the nationwide October/November 2025 NUC accreditation exercise, was conducted by three-member panels for each of the programmes. The visit followed the official NUC schedule communicated through a letter dated 16th September 2025 (Ref: NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/302), which outlined the Commission’s plan to evaluate Nigerian universities and their affiliate institutions between October 12 and December 5, 2025.
At Peaceland University, the accreditation team arrived on October 28, 2025, to assess the Nursing Science, Microbiology, and Cybersecurity programmes. The Cybersecurity accreditation extended until November 1, 2025, while the Nursing Science and Microbiology panels concluded their visits on October 30 and 31, respectively.
During the exercise, the panels evaluated key academic and institutional parameters, including staffing quality, curriculum content, teaching and learning facilities, laboratory and ICT infrastructure, student records, and research output. The panels also held interactive sessions with faculty members, students, and management to ensure compliance with NUC’s Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS).
The Vice-Chancellor of Peaceland University, in expressing appreciation, commended the NUC for its consistent efforts in upholding quality assurance and academic excellence across Nigerian universities. He also lauded the dedication of the institution’s staff and students, whose commitment contributed to the smooth and successful accreditation process.
