PHYSIOTHERAPY ACCREDITATION VISIT TO PEACELAND UNIVERSITY, ENUGU
A team from the Physiotherapy Council of Nigeria (PCN) visited Peaceland University, Enugu, on Wednesday to assess the University’s facilities, learning resources, and readiness for quality Physiotherapy education.
The team met with the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Leonard Ilechukwu, University Management and the Head of the Physiotherapy Programme, and also interacted with students and staff.
Peaceland University has provided specialised facilities for quality teaching and practical learning, including an ultra-modern physiotherapy gymnasium, electrotherapy and diagnostic laboratory, cardiopulmonary, paediatric, geriatric, orthopaedic, neurological and mental health, women’s health and pelvic, community/primary care, and ergonomics/occupational health physiotherapy units.
Physiotherapy education has two major components: classroom learning and clinical training. As part of the assessment, the team also visited UNTH and UNEC to ascertain the University’s compliance with the required clinical exposure for students.
The visit further demonstrates Peaceland University’s commitment to producing competent, ethical and professionally equipped physiotherapists through quality academic and clinical training.
